Born in 1968, Claudia Nemat has been Member of the Board of Management of Deutsche Telekom since October 2011. Until the end of 2016 she led the European business of DT, since January 2017 she has been leading the newly created Board area Technology and Innovation. In that role, she is responsible for the production (networks and IT) as well as the Company‘s technology and innovation.
Before joining Deutsche Telekom AG, Claudia Nemat spent 17 years working for McKinsey&Company where she was elected Partner in 2000, and Senior Partner (“Director”) in 2006. Among other responsibilities during her time there, she was Co-leader of the global Technology Sector and led the unit for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Her main areas of expertise include digital transformation, disruptive technologies, cultural change in global environments, and complex stakeholder management. She has worked across Europe, in North and South America as well as Asia.
Mrs. Nemat was Member of the Supervisory Board of Lanxess AG from 2013 until May 2016, when she became Member of the Board of Directors of Airbus Group as well as Member of the Supervisory Board of Airbus Défense and Space GmbH. She is also member of the Hochschulrat of the University of Cologne and MINT Ambassador.
Claudia Nemat studied physics at the University of Cologne, where she also taught at the department of theoretical physics and maths.
She lives with her husband and two children in Düsseldorf.
