Marina Landia

Marina Landia is a video and performance artist based in Berlin and London. Born in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia, she studied at the
State Academy of Arts in Tbilisi and worked for eight years as a set and costume designer at the Georgia Film Studio. After immigrating to Germany, she gained a Master’s degree at the Institute for Art in Context, UDK in Berlin.
The main focus of her artistic work is the exploration and critical evaluation of general social, economic and political trends. Ms. Landia examines the intersection of art and other disciplines by involving people with different professional and cultural backgrounds. Alongside her work as an independent artist, she has developed more then 20 interdisciplinary video projects and workshops in cooperation with various institutions in Germany, Great Britain and Russia: the Alfred-Töpfer Foundation in Hamburg; Accenture in Moscow; Wimbledon School of Art in London; Kulturamt Neukölln in Berlin; Haus Rissen in Hamburg. As a founding member and leader of the artist group, “Neue Nachbarn,” she works on the Community Development Program in Spandau Nord, Berlin.
