ESMT Annual Forum 2010, June 16-17 - People, Planet, Profit: Creating a Sustainable Future

The ESMT Annual Forum 2010 started at 4:30 p.m. on June 16 with an opening address by the Chairman of the ESMT Foundation Board of Trustees, Michael Diekmann (Allianz), and a keynote address by Peter Löscher (Siemens). On the subsequent Cornerstone Panel “The New Role of the State and European Competitiveness,” speakers included Jean-Louis Beffa (Saint Gobain), Wolfgang Mayrhuber (Deutsche Lufthansa), René Obermann (Deutsche Telekom), and Sergej Komlev (000 Gazprom). An art installation by the audiovisual artist Marina Landia and a reception wrapped up the first day of the Annual Forum.

On June 17 an early breakfast with a presentation and Q&A on "Creating a 21st century sustainable enterprise - from what now to what next?" by Girish S. Paranjpe (Wipro), started the day's program. From 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., parallel panels explored the topics of leading for sustainability, the hopes and realities of a green energy future and ‘doing well with doing good’. Alexander Landia's (Siberian Coal Energy Company) closing remarks were be followed by lunch.
