President's Welcome

The challenges of the future success of business and society are on the rise. We are encountering a firm set of issues to pursue in the years to come: climate change, demographic shifts, an unstable economic outlook, the growing need for international cooperation, smart regulation, urbanization, an increasingly networked society, and continuous technological innovation, to name just a few. Rather than being abstract phenomena, all these trends, movements, developments, and problems involve societal actors, be they in businesses or government or be they employees, customers or other members of the market place. Performance on people and planet dimensions will gain increasing importance if companies wish to succeed long-term and on a global level.

As a research-driven business school standing for both responsible leadership and sustainable management, we at ESMT remain dedicated to providing a platform for leaders in academia, business, and politics to evaluate and discuss the issues mentioned above and to come up with shared solutions.
Please take a moment to find out more about the two-day program.
Therefore, I am particularly looking forward to our discussions on June 16 and 17 at our ESMT campus in Berlin.

Sincerely,
Lars-Hendrik Röller
ESMT President
